Doing the Undone

People don't do things,
not because they can't do them,
but because of sheer unwillingness.

Dew

The rising Sun, the morning Dew,
The Sun Smiled & so did the Dew,
They said; the smile is a gift for you,
Carry it on, whenever you start anew.
And now the happiness is flowing through.

Gift from the Master

You are the one I have sought from the master
You are the one who makes my heart beat faster
Our unification was really meant to be
It was a karmic connect between you and me

You more precious than any stone on the earth
Your indomitable love for me that has no dearth
Getting you in my life, my joy knows no bound
I am all merry, my mind’s going round

Your square long face ohhh keeps on coming across my face
Your nasty little talks make me go so insane
Your thoughts filling my mind all day long
Your name on my lips like a lovely song

Sing Sing Sing is all that my heart does
In my life now there’s no fuss
Listening to me patiently like a pupil in the school
Even with my foolhardiness, you don’t lose your cool

You are the gift that has been given to me
I am gonna love you & the world will see
All my wishes & desires fulfilled in you
Loving you forever is all I want to do

My Sacred Verse

Your serene thoughts racing all across my mind
You seem to have cast a spell of some kind
Your thoughts more sacred than worship of the God
My prayers answered & you being my reward
Your breath racing like a serenading lullaby
Against the walls of my pounding heart
The hypnosis of your beautiful eye
That would neither let me live, nor let me die
Your rich talk enchanting my soul
Reverberating & purifying any leftover dark shady coal
The smile across your face lifting my trodden spirit
The reinforcement that keeps me going & going
The arms pulsate to never let you go away
Holding you in its fortress from night till the day
All my unanswered questions & queries galore
Quenched with your soothing touch, & then there are quests no more
So much to know in the entire universe
But you are my little universe, & my only sacred verse

Yester Today & Morrow

Yesterday was the rocky mountain
Today is much better
Yesterday I feared, in this hostility I will wither
Today I have no fears, feels lighter than the feather
Yesterday the track was carpeted with thorns & bushes
Today it has petals of rose & the soothe of the cushions
Yesterday the air was choking & the lungs smothering
Today a fresh wind of air in my hair
Yesterday the gloom shadowed my thoughts, everything seemed so dark
Today brings with it a new ray of light
Yesterday seemed to be depressing, & depriving
Today in turn is so merrier & giving
Yesterday I didn’t know, what tomorrow will be
Today that uncertainty in no more with me
Yesterday I was on my own
Today has brought with it newer responsibilities galore
Yesterday I had nobody to share me with
Today I have good friends who bring out in me, the young hidden kid
Yesterday the new venture seemed so gloomy
Today the feat of overcoming my apprehensions makes me so sunny
It all didn’t come with the flick of a finger
It took in its making sweat, tears, pain & anger
Yesterday made me experience the value of today,
I can foresee the darkness loosing its way,
Its moving away from me and slowly fading away,
The vision of tomorrow, seems pleasing to my eyes,
With every rising sun, only happiness will rise.

Indomitable Passion

Passion’s flowing in my blood thru my nerves
It’s about slender groovy bends & the curves
It gives me a high, it gives me a kick
Intoxicating me in a tick
Passion they say is so bad you see
But its clenches even they couldn’t flee
Everyone falls prey to its invite
Losing the sense of what’s wrong, what’s right
Digging deep into my skin
Touching me deep, piercing my shin
The sweet taste of the sweat
Putting to test the contours of the gut
The temperatures soar
In unison we roar
The clenching & the clawing
Sense of oneness, unification & the belonging
The passion taking me so high
The dreams, craving & fantasies coming alive

Death of Love

Why does my heart sink on losing sight of you?
Why does it beat faster when you pass me through?
I wonder, Why does it pain, & why it blossoms
I would never know, why it surfaces, why it bottoms
Your beauty makes it ohhh so bloated
If you take my heart out, you will see your name jotted
You are the one who raises my beamers
The thought of parting, gives me shivers
Alas this racing & desire had to come to an end
You have broken my heart, & all rules you bent
Seeing you cozying in the arms of the foe
There’s no motive to live, I want to go
Loved in vain, my heart’s in deep pain, life holds no charm,
My love, you have done me unfathomable harm
I don’t want to accept what I saw, I still feel if it’s a bad dream
I am going mad, I want to scream
The mind says, let’s kill the pain & stop the gush
The heart says, she’s yours, she’s blinded, hold on, what’s the big rush
The whole body’s burning as if on pyre
I want to doze off this frenzy & the fire
I slit my wrist, with a blade
Now I can’t see anything, everything’s fade
Just her face crossing across my thought
I could have won great battles, but this one I lost
My heart used to source once, glad for all the love it had
& today there’s no feeling, it is just flat

Kashmiri Marriage

Well marriage as you know is all about dancing, singing, indulging in food, looking beautiful, meeting people, cracking jokes, having fun & loads of preparation. To make this scoop, all the ingredients have to be put in the right quantities. Kashmiri marriages last long, real long. This big fat marriage affair could last for anywhere from 4 days to 20 days. The various ceremonies that have to carried forth are the:

Livun >> Livun is an exceptional ritual prevalent only in the Kashmiri wedding. In it the cleaning of the place takes place, followed by worshipping of the deities. Since many close relatives & cousins are around it is followed by singing folk songs & dancing.

Ver >> The Paternal Aunt’s will prepare Ver (Similar to Rice khichdi) on the marriage day. This Ver will then be distributed to all the relatives. The Waza (traditional cook) will prepare Kashmiri delicacies along with the Ver.

Krool Khanun >> Krool Khanun is a ceremony in which the respective Aunts & cousins will decorate the entrance doors of the house, writing on it ‘Bride weds Groom, using different colors & designs on the entrance walls.

Devagon >> Devgon is the havan which is performed before the marriage. In this Havan, prayers are offered by both the bride and the groom & it transfers them from the Brahmacharya to the Grihasta Ashram. In this the gold jewellery is also worshipped & put on the bride. These prayers are offered essentially to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Mehndiraat >> In the evening there will be elaborate rituals. Respective maternal aunts will wash the Bride’s & Groom’s feet. Then the respective eldest paternal aunt will apply Mehandi on the hands and feet of the bride & the groom. Then the respective paternal aunts will distributes the Mehendi or to all the relatives present, who in turn give her money for the Mehandi.

Yagnopavit >> This is one of the sacred thread ceremonies, conducted before the marriage. In it a sacred thread (Yoni), is put across the body of the boy, & marks his becoming a Pandit (or a Brahmin, Kashmiri Pandit). This involves a day long havan & the groom collects money to pay Guru dakshina (fees) to his Guru, from whom he gets the Diksha (supreme knowledge). The Guru also tells him a Guru Mantra of (Om Boor Bawa Swaha, Tasa vita Varenayam, Bhargo Dimahase, Diyo yo na Pracho daya). The head of the boy is tonsured. The ceremony ends with the termination of the full day of fasting & dressing up the groom in new clothes, & going to the temple. The ceremony is a elaborate one, & involves offering prayers to the various gods while chanting Swaha (offering to all the lords at once).

Lagan >> The lagan is fixed at the nighttime (rotlagan) or daytime (dohlagan). All invitees will assemble at the groom’s residence, & move on to the marriage venue. This will again be a length affair, followed by the Jaimala (bride & groom garlanding each other). Then begins the 7 feras (rounds around the fire), taking vows of living together forever, looking after each other. This also involves the bride changing her Gothra from that of her parent’s to that of her husband’s gothra. The Gorr (priest) will direct them about their duties towards each other & towards others (parents). Then, there will be Athwas in which bride & groom will cross their arms one over the other and hold hands. And their hands will be covered with a cloth. A golden thread called Mananmal will be tied to their foreheads. After this, the left foot of bride & groom, would be kept one upon the other, and placed on a kajwat (a grinding stone used in Kashmiri kitchens). The first round (phera) around the sacred fire would be made by stepping on seven one-rupee coins of silver (placed in a circle), while the other six rounds will be done to the chant of mantras. This will be followed by the Posh Pooza, in which bride & the groom will be flanked with a red cloth, & flowers will be put on them, signifying the unification of Shiv & Shakti. Bride & the groom will finally feed each other some food (essentially rice). The ceremony ends with the bride’s father doing kanyadaan, & taking a pledge from the groom, that he will look after their daughter with utmost care & love.

Vidai >> Vidai or departing will happen with bride & the groom standing on the Vyuhug (Grond decorated with different colors). They will be fed with sweets. The departing involves a lot of nostalgia, & emotions come out in form of tears. Bride & the groom would then go to a temple to get the blessings of the god in this new beginning of life.

Satraat >> Bride & the groom would then go to Bride’s parent's house for dinner the same evening of the marriage, & may probably stay back for the night.

Honeymoon >> Aah se aaha tak

The Great Professors of India

Great scientists have hailed from this land of snake charmers & elephant tamers. The great scientist & the first surgeon the world has ever knows was Sushruta Samhita, from India. He not only did cut open surgeries, but also prescribed Ayurvedic medication to help his patients recuperate & fight the diseases that haunted them. India has since been the land of noted scientists & doctors who have spread all over the world saving lives, mankind & humanity alike.

In the era of Mr. India, India proudly boasted of great scientists as Professor Foo Man Choo from some unknown land made the missiles for Mogamboo the great. Mogamboo the greatest & the most evil monster that is known to Indians, creates 4 missiles in the movie, to destroy the 4 metropolitans of Delhi, Mumbai, Madras & Calcutta. He does so in order to take vengeance on one Mr. India whose uncle had created a device to make anyone invisible, on weaning the device. It was actually Professor Foo Man Choo who created Mr. Mogamboo's missiles, & was even decorated with Nobel Prize for equipping Mr. Mogamboo with the deadliest of the missile ever known to mankind. But alas the professor Foo Man Choo is martyred in the missile yard. Mr. Mogamboo in his fury launches the 4 camouflaged missiles that emerge from beneath the ground (Thanks to Professor Foo Man Choo's hydraulic based missile launching system). Not to mention the laser guides, & Satellite navigated missiles that would launch the missles in the heart of these 4 cities, instantaneously killing millions. But Mr. India in the favor of humanity decides to terminate the launch. The Missile launching system has a bug that was not caught by the bloody testing team. The bug was that once missile launch has been initiated it can't be terminated; doing so would cause the missile to explode in the base, shearing & tearing everything in its proximity. As they say, in a collision "there you are", but in an explosion "Where you are?" . In the end the great Professor Foo man Choo is buried under the debris of the base, & Mr. India escapes unhurt with his chick, & a few hundred kids that he had.

Professor Phunsukh Wangdoo was a disciple of Professor Foo Man Choo, but contrary to his Master's work ethics, he chose to work for the betterment of the mankind. He was even decorated with the Bharat Ratna, Nobel Prize, you name it & he had it. With more than 400 patents in 10 years, filing a patent was like a cup of tea for him. He was the one who discovered that salt is a good conductor of electricity, & used this principle of his to electrify the dicks of zillions of men all over the world. Thanks to this technique of his, men became impotent & it gave better results than Sanjiv Gandhi’s nasbandi *********

The professor is a happy man who is being lured by the Japanese, & the Americans alike, but he is no land's man, & lives happily in the valley of Ladakh, teaching the kids, with a passion, & also piling up on his list of inventions. As I write this content I don't know how many ideas he must have already patented or how many more ideas must have cropped up in his tiny little brain. He is a true inspiration to every living creature on the earth, making his name & the name of his country (India) scale new heights.

Hail the great Prof Foo Man Choo & Professor Phunsukh Wangdoo

Pain an Antidote

Pain, a somatic sensation of acute discomfort, emotional distress or a physical hurt. Contrary to the belief that pain ruptures & devastates people, pain is actually an adhesive that binds people together. Pain gives people a chance to stand up in unison & in sync against the stimuli causing the pain. It works as a filler to plug in the cracks & crevices of a strained relationship. Pain is also a dope that gives people a high. Pain is also a way to gain empathy, compassion, affiliation, love & attention. It brings out the best in the pain inflicted individual & his empathizers.

Pain is also a healer that bridges the differences, between two individuals. They collectively tend to overcome the pain inflicting problem, & in this process their intimacy & understanding for each other also grows. Somatic sensations upsurge in them, igniting & conflagrating the fire of love & compassion, once again that was long forgone.

Life is a boomerang with troughs & peaks. People who cognize with you during the peaks may be many, but they may not be the real emphasizers. Whereas the people who are coherent during the troughs, are the real empathizers, & well wishers. There goes a saying that "Hands that come to wipe off your tears are much better than the hands that come to clap for you". Pain is a similar antidote, where you undergo a lot of trauma & perishing, but in the process come to know the real empathizers, churned out from the defunct & the unwanted weeds.

For some pain may also be a way of life, as is the case of the religious cult sects, who inflict pain on themselves, as a way to achieve godliness. Pain is also an antidote that keeps us grounded to earth. Absence of pain would make us sick, mad & into a frenzied fanatic. The pain comes to destroy the phase of happiness so that a new cycle of happiness could begun, & that we would cherish & value the moments of happiness & tranquility in our lives. Pain also leads us to subdue to the supreme, or the inner self. Subjugating & surrendering to the powerful force inside us & around us, leading us towards righteousness & virtuousness. It induces fear in us, the fear of being punished if we didn't abide by the rulebook of the inner conscious or that of the truth. Pain is aptly an antidote rather than the posion itself.

Wisdom of Living

I was running from the life
Shying from defunct & alike
Didn't count my steps
Didn’t see where I was headed

Someone called on me to stop
I halted & diverted my thought
Panting & Sweating he came close to me
He caught his breath, which was in frenzy

A man in his later eighties
Bent back & wrinkled skin
Shaky hands with visible shin
Bespectacled, but an aura on his face

He gazed me direct in my eye
Said, Son can we sit & I asked him why
But soon my curiosity was ohh so high
That I followed him to a bench nearby

His lips quavering to speak something
Eyes holding a thousand stories
Face index to his mind
That said, happiness isn't hard to find

Son, when I saw you,
I memorized my own life
I have been running all through my life
Out of breath, & with bare hands

Never learnt the true meaning of life
Never read the story that's cozy & right
Never cared about the happiness inside
Happiness crippled in this worldly tide

Converted all my desired to needs
Fulfilled on all my satiable greeds
Power, status, security under my feet
Today it all seems like no great feat

A few friends for namesake
Glorious things in which to rake
Everything around me fallacy & fake
I wished that this jinx would break

I had everything desirable & material
But actually as poor as the poorest of the poor
I betrayed, stabbed & killed for my greed
I always craved for more than my need

I ran through this journey like a marathon
Leaving everyone behind, my greatest blunder
I ran, I ran, I ran & I ran
The winner of trophy of detest & hatred

His charisma was spell binding
Nerve numbing & hypnotizing
I was ohh so attentive & careful
Cleared mind, no more battles to fight

I understood the substance of the wise
Be happy, content & suffice
Love the people & love your life
Try to make the most of the journey called life

The wise had gone, but showed me the way
No more subjugation, no more dismay
I stayed all so cordial & gay
A new beginning I must say

Do you love me or not?

Do you love me, or you don't?
Can't peep in your heart, Can't read your eye,
Please don't fake, please don't lie
Your fudged emotions I ain't going to buy

Your yes or no, matters you see
If you do, This feeling will always be
If you don't, I will set you free
Cause then you never belonged to me

I no more want to daydream
No more want to go mad & scream
Don't make me feel worthless even for a while
I am curious, I ain't going senile

No more following the ghost in the darks
Thoughts no more biting into me like sharks
I want peace & solace of my soul
I will forget all the promises & the parole

All the words you said
All the promises you made
All the things you did
Will keep me alive, Will keep me sane

These are the churning & testing times
I will forgive you for all your old crimes
Just want to know the true
The true that I know not, & you do
