Life in Bangalore, Do's & Dont's

Its been a month for me here in Bangalore. The information that I provide here may be of some use to those of you who want to shift to Bangalore.

1. Different Restros are here, offering variety of food, at cheap rates too, it is hygienic, never had a problem with that.
2. Fav places to hangout are MG Road, Lal Baug, Mysore (40 Kms away), Koorg, & other picnic spots within 200kms radius.
3. Rooms are pretty expensive & landlords demand 10 times the Rent as refundable deposit. PG Accomodation is readily available for somwhere between 1500-3500Rs.
4. The Buses cover almost whole of the city. Roads are bad & so is the traffic, so start off from your destination 30 mins in advance.
5. Every Street has a marvellous building, unknowingly if u ask someone, u will get just one reply, "its a software company".
6. Software rookies & Young crowd can be seen all over Bangalore, with their respected & respective access cards hung around their necks like, the Dog's Chain (More appropriately I term it as the Kutte Ka Patta).
7. Most of people can speak Hindi, & the educated clan can speak English as well, so don't hesitate to ask for any help, if the need be.
8. Tap water is not consumable, esp for those of you, who come new to the city.
9. The climate is moderate, but the temperature here has been soaring since the past 3-4 years, credit goes to the high levels of vehicular pollution. Bangalore is 1000mts above sea level, so the climate is really enjoyable.
10. Autorikshaws may be expensive depending on the distance you travel, however insist on going only by meter, many of the meters are rigged.
U can get in touch with me at amit_shali@yahoo.com if the need be.
